More pictures...

Right now, I'm watching Roswell and eating Tofiluk. Hehe. Didn't know tofiluk was sold in Thailand, never came across one until Daron saw the wrapper on the ground in Chiang Mai. We checked their 'Snack Bar' and lo and behold, Tofiluk! Heheh. Haven't eaten tofiluk for a long time, and when I tasted that familiar taste again, it felt good! Hehe. Well. Here are some more pictures of the trip and also the concert. As I've said before, I'm too poor to own my own camera, so these pictures were taken from D and D's digicam. Hehe. Thanks guys. :)

Music Rendezvous Vol. II

Time flew by so fast. It seemed like it was just yesterday that we performed in the Music Rendezvous concert. Last Saturday was the second concert organized by the MC String Ensemble. This time, instead of 14 string players in the string ensemble, there were only 7 of us. Three new players - Lyndelle, Lemuel and Sendy. It was great - we didn't feel as much pressure as last year and we pulled all the songs off pretty well, no major off tunes (definitely less than last year). Hehe. Here are some of the pictures - will post more later, I have a class in about 30 minutes, need to get ready now.

MCCC trip to Chiang Mai

Hehe. Sorry for this late, late post about the trip to Chiang Mai. Well, it was a great trip despite just experiencing the loss of my beloved cousin. 10 hours on the road was fun (sort of) too - sleep, played games, sleep again, played games again, and so on. We arrrived at the city of Chiang Mai at around 8 p.m. and went shopping at the market. The market was biggggg, if only we had more time to shop. The group stayed at the Chiang Mai Adventist Church compound for the night. The next morning, the group were up bright and early. Before heading to Chiang Mai Adventist Academy, we were brought to a temple - forgot its name though. Did some shopping - no, actually I did most of my shopping for Thai silk there, knowing that we wouldn't be stopping at any more places selling Thai silk.

The weekend went well, really well. We stayed at Hardin Hall, some 5 minutes from the Academy. The church service was amazing, especially the song service. The kids - oh, they were great. When they sing, it's deafening (in a good way, though). You should have heard them, they were loud, and I mean LOUD. It felt good - leading song service in front and listening to their voices - it was great. I've never heard people singing this loud in a church before - certainly not in MC though. Saturday afternoon - visit to Buatong Waterfall. Amazing waterfall - you can climb the waterfall without slipping because the rocks were not slippery - at all! And then, while the others were still enjoying the waterfall, Acharn Damrong brought us to the see the 'fountain'. The water was clear, and when Acharn Damrong told us that there is a belief that when someone drinks the water from the 'fountain', it will bring good luck to them. Mr. Gerald decided to try, at first we just watched. But then, we decided to try it too, and the taste of the water was uhm...i don't know. It was full of minerals, so you can imagine how it tasted like.

Saturday night was also great. We led song service again, and sang "Ring Christmas Bells" and "Ding Dong Merrily On High". After that - games! The students had fun playing the games - so I observed. The night was still young when we headed back to Hardin Hall. Earlier, we had already decided that we would stay awake the whole night because we had to wake up at 4 a.m. But then, the electricity went off, so we couldn't watch movies or play cards. What we did was we played the 7 Up game and the knots game before deciding that we might as well get some sleep.

The journey back to MC felt shorter. Maybe it was because I slept most of the way and didn't feel the time passing by. We arrived at MC at around 4.30 p.m. All in all, I really enjoyed the trip and I'm looking forward to more trips with the MCCC next semester! Meanwhile, enjoy the pics. :)

New day

It’s a new day again. It felt good to wake up, go for yoga, walk around the track and see the sunrise this morning. It might have been a good start for the day if nothing had happened back home. Today, my beloved cousin will be laid to rest until Jesus comes. I might look and act as if nothing happened, but there are times that my mood suddenly changes. I just want to say that it’s still a mask that I’m wearing, inside it still hurts so bad. So, forgive me if I suddenly go quiet or act differently. Yesterday, I skipped my 8 o’clock class – feel pretty guilty about it, but glad at the same time. I knew that even though I went to class, I might not be able to fully concentrate on what the teacher says. On the other hand, I can say that I’m glad I didn’t go to class because I got to chat with my cousin and just talk about our cousin. I cried as we had our chat, he cried too. He said he called our uncle and our uncle told him not to worry because they are doing okay. I’m also glad when he told me that the support given by other family members were great – as soon as my uncle called his other siblings, they immediately went to the hospital even though they live 2 or 3 hours away from Kota Marudu. I was glad and comforted to have known that. There are three of us first cousins who are not able to go home – a cousin and her 3 children in the UK, another cousin in KL and myself – I’m not alone in my feelings after all.

Anyway, I’m still trying to feel better but it’ll take time. I just have to occupy my mind with other things so that I won’t think about it all the time. And I’m glad that I have my friends to do that.

On the other hand, tomorrow the Chamber Choir, together with some teachers and students, will be traveling to Chiang Mai! I have been waiting for tomorrow to come and finally it’s here! The journey will be 10 hours long - macam mo pigi Tawau saja or even further…hehe, cakap-cakap saja ni, bukan saya pernah pigi Tawau.:P
I guess this will be my last post for this week; next post will be on Monday the 14th. So have a good day and good weekend!

Oh, and HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my cousin and room mate, Lorena! May God bless you with many more birthdays to come. Always be thankful for birthdays. :)

p/s: I can't shout in my shoutbox, dunno why leh. Kakak Bibi, tnx, I know I can always count on you. I haven't been smsing you lately, miskin bah hehe, will do soon:)

Thank you so much

Thank you for your thoughts and prayers. It's always nice to have friends who are there when you are down. It's really hard for me to cope and deal with the death of my beloved cousin, especially when I'm far from home. I haven't seen her for a long time and I didn't have the chance to say 'goodbye' to her for the last time. It hit me really hard. I'm trying to cope with her death, but I can't do it all alone. That's why I'm grateful to have friends here who offered comfort to me. I want to be home badly, to be there with family and relatives during this time of loss, but I know it's not possible, especially now. I just hope that you will continue to pray for her family.

Special thanks from me goes to:

Daron - thank you for the hug and comfort. (sorry if I woke you up with the sms)

Deanna - thank you for the effort of cheering me up, thank you for chatting with me in
the middle of the night (sorry to kacau you..hehe), thank you
for your prayers, thank you for the hug (really needed that:))

Shimona - thank you for saying that you are available if i needed to talk or cry, thank
you for your prayers and concern, thank you for your tip (;P)...I'm glad I
came for yoga this morning, took my thoughts away from it at least for a
little while. :)

Lyndelle - thank you for the comfort, thank you for your prayers and concern, thank
you for the sms you sent me

...to Fiona, Tina, and the others, thank you also for your prayers, comfort and for being there. I don't know what could have happened if you all were not here. I really, really appreciate it.

***To Amy, thank you for the words of encouragement, and to Leo, terima kasih to you
too. I can't shout in my shoutbox, but keep 'shouting' there.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

The result of sin...

I just lost a dear cousin. I was almost going to deep sleep when I received an sms from another cousin that requested me to pray for this particular cousin as she was critically sick in the hospital. That was around 11.15 p.m. I started to get uncomfortable. And then about 30 minutes later, my cellphone rang again and this time it said "Call". My heart started beating fast. I knew it was my brother, and he told me that they just arrived at the hospital in Kota Marudu, and also told me that there's little hope - that hit me. Before he hung up, he told me that he will call again if anything happens. I could not sleep. I was wide awake, thinking repeatedly to myself that my cellphone's gonna ring any time, it's either good or bad news. And then, as I lay on my bed, cellphone beside me, I heard that dreadful ring and saw that "call", I answered the phone, it was my brother and by the tone of his voice when he said "Adie..." (little sister), I just couldn't help it but to burst into tears. That was 12.03 a.m. (Thailand time). Damn it! My bro tried to calm me, but it didn't help. I haven't seen her for a long time, probably a couple of years, and I didn't get to see her when I went back last summer. I feel really, really bad. I knew this was gonna happen, but I didn't expect it to happen so suddenly and ... arggghh~! Death is so cruel!! This sinful world is cruel!

She was a great sport. We rarely see each other, except during family reunions. And whenever we get together during those family reunions, she was always there, cheerful and talkative. She always had a smile on her face. She was the family's best friend. She was strong despite her illness. I will truly miss her company whenever the Lamam family gather together again.

Please pray for her family, even if you don't know her. Thank you for your prayers.

Holidays over!

Time went by so fast. And now, the break is over! Oh well. Time to move on. Time to get serious in my studies. I hope I won't just say it, because I tend to not get serious. Hehe.

Just wanted to post a couple of pictures taken when I was still in Sabah.

Alone...again!

Why am I always the lucky one to be stucked in this uncivilized part of the country while the others are enjoying themselves somewhere out there? A bit sarcastic there, I was just joking. Hehe. Yep, alone again. It's midterm break, and I'm alone in my cell. While others are enjoying themselves out there, I'm in the comfort of my room, trying to think what else is there to do to kill time aside from watching movies and staring at the empty computer screen. Hehe. Hehe.

Sometimes it's not too bad to be alone, but when you are really alone, you can really feel it. Not that I'm not used to be alone, I've been 'alone' this past few weeks anyway. I don't know, but I just feel that way.

Hmm..it's just 10 p.m., what else should I do? Watch movies? Nah, too much of it already this past few weeks. Sleep? Still too early. Stare at the computer screen? Maybe.

Last night...

What a way to begin my holidays! Yesterday went just fine until we were held by the police last night. I went to Korat yesterday with the Malaysian guys, and all was well. We were there from 11 to 4 and we reached MC at around 5.30 or somewhere around there. Then, at 8.30 p.m. 4 of us went out to eat. We were planning to eat at pi Noi's, but then the place was full so we decided to go to Muak Lek instead. On our way there, it was perfectly fine - no road blocks, no police. After dinner, we were deciding whether to go the back way or the front way...well, assuming that there will be no road blocks or police if we use the front way, we decided on going through the front. But then, our assumption was wrong - way wrong. The police stopped us. Of course, I started to panic, but I pretended not to look panic in front of the police. So, all four of us acted calm. Luckily, we were not the only MCians there, Richard, Pisith and Nampheung were there too. Those of us who were not Thai pretended to not be able to speak and understand Thai, except for Richard though. Nampheung was a different case, she's a Thai but she pretended not to be one, instead she told the police that she was from Bangladesh! I laughed when she told me this!LOL!She said if she told the police that she was Thai, they will charge her more. Well, we were held for about 30 minutes (or more, I don't know) before we were allowed to go. Mark had to pay B200 for Steve's bike and my bike. It was a surprise and unexpected road block I suppose, because the police were opening the seats and checking the insides, probably looking for drugs or something? I don't know. Oh well, that was one experience and I don't want it to happen to me again. Hehe. I was 'traumatised' last night, I didn't have my ID with me and I didn't have my helmet on too, because no one thought that we were going to Muak Lek, and no one thought that there will be a road block because according to them, it rarely happens. One of the lucky nights for the police I guess - $$$!I guess I won't be driving to Muak Lek for a while! Hahhahah:D

I'm Buffy'ated'

Bad timing. That's all I can say. Hehe. Whhhyyyyy??!! Now I can't stop! This is bad.

Oh well. Moving on. So far I had 2 midterm tests, and both of them went well (I hope:)) except one of them really made me feel stupid and dumb after the test. Hehe. Now, I'm just relaxing for the weekend. Well. Not really relaxing as I have another test on Monday and 2 writing assignments and 2 reading assignments for one of my literature class!!!GRRRRR!!Oh, and to make things worst, I haven't done my double log entry for my theories class either! Hahahhahah~! So much for making a promise to myself that I would do things ahead of time for this semester. Yep. That's me. :)

Tomorrow will be an interesting day. I hope.

Happy Sabbath:)

"Tenjewberrymuds"

This is an email sent to our English for Tourism teacher and she shared it with us last Tuesday. Just thought that I would post it up here.

Tenjewberrymuds

To get the full effect, this message should be read out loud. You will understand what 'tenjewberrymuds' mean by the end of the conversation.

This has been nominated for the best email of 2005.

The following is a telephone exchange between a hotel guest and room service at a hotel in Asia, which was recorded and published in the Far East Economic Review.

Room Service (RS): "Morrin. Roon sirbees."
Guest (G): "Sorry, I thought I dialed room-service."
RS: "Rye. Roon sirbees...morrin! Jewish to oddor sunteen??"
G: "Uh..yes..I'd like some bacon and eggs."
RS: "Ow July den?"

G: "What?"
RS: "An toes. July Sahn toes?"
G: "I don't think so."

G: "I feel really bad about this, but I don't know what 'judo wan sahn toes; means."
RS: "Toes! toes!...Why jew don juan toes? Wo bow Anglish moppin we bodder?"
G: "English muffin!!I've got it! Your were saying "TOast.' Fine. Yes, an English muffin will be fine."
RS: "We bodder?"

RS: "Wad?"
G: "I mean butter...just put it on the side."
RS: "Copy?"
G: "Excuse me?"
RS: "Copy...tea...meel?"
G: "Yes. Coffee, please, and that's all."
RS: "One Minnie. Scramah egg, crease baykem, Anglish moppin we bodder on sigh and copy...rye??"
G: "Whatever you say."
RS: "Tenjewberrymuds."
G: "You're very welcome...!"

Deanna read the RS part and Tina took the Guest role and all of us had a good laugh after they finished reading it! Hahahah!

Ok, gotta get to work now - study for News Writing and English for Tourism!

Malam Kebudayaan

We had so much fun dancing on Saturday night, walaupun the audience (seperti biasa) ketawa bila si Steve pangkis. Hehe. Tak pa. Yang penting, we had fun and we really enjoyed it! As Atama, in his song, sang:

So, come on everybody throw your hands up in the air
Do the Sumazau Dance like you just don't care
Makes you feel good nothing else can compare!

That was exactly what we did on stage - we danced the Sumazau like we just don't care! Hehe.

Hariku Hari Ini

Hahahhaahah~!I haven't written in Malay since my highschool graduation!!hahaha..To Malaysians reading this, maafkanlah Melayu ku ini. Hehe. While writing those words up there, there were times that I had to think how to write it in the proper MALAY, I know that there are probably errors but nevermind. Hehe. My Malay sucks now. I can't even write in proper Malay anymore! Well, I was always poor in my Bahasa Malaysia subject in school, although it surprised me that I got a B for my SPM. Oh well. Those were the days.

Oh...speaking of 'those days', here are some pictures from 'those days'. I love 'those days'' pictures because it reminds me of my friends and the crazy times that we had when all of us were schooling in SASS.

I miss my friends there...it's good that we still keep in touch up until today, and the best thing is, I got to meet one of them last year when the AUP Ambassadors came! Yay!

I have more pictures in my computer but, I guess this will do for now. Hehe.

Have a nice day peeps.

Muang Boran field trip

Yesterday was a really tiring day for me. I would have not been that tired if I hadn't played soccer the previous night. After playing soccer that night, my thighs really hurt and on Sunday morning, it hurt even more, but I forced myself to wake up (at 5 a.m.!) and get ready for the field trip. When I went out of the dorm, the sunrise was so beautiful that I forgot about the pain for a while. We left the campus at around 6.20 a.m. and the long journey to Muang Boran began. I ate the breakfast provided by the cafe on the way, and then after that, I slept all the way until we reached the place.

It was 9 a.m. when we reached the place. We started off from the Southern region of Thailand. Interesting places, interesting replicas. Oh, btw, we took a tram with a Thai guide, so you can imagine us sitting on the tram, and a Thai guide standing infront explaining things in Thai, looking as if we knew what he was talking about. Hehe. We had our lunch at the 'floating market' and it was a good lunch although it was slightly expensive, but anything for a good lunch on a hot (really hot!) day after walking here and there. To make the story short, we managed to cover the whole place 6 hours later. 6 hours!!It was very tiring, but it was fun! Almost as soon as I got comfortable inside the van, I drifted off to sleep......We stopped by at Saraburi and only reached MC at around 8 p.m. Whew! What a day!

Pictures from the trip will be posted sometime later....

Go BLUE!!:p

Life in MC is good so far. Sports week is here again and it's good to go out there and cheer for our team!Tonite, there will be a female football match - Blue vs. Red - and most probably I'll be playing!Haha! It's been, ehm, 3 or 4 years since I last played, my stamina is gone and all those training, under a state player whose name I forgot, is gone... Hehe. I miss playing football with my team mates i.e. Choco, Joy, Leoni, Mellisa, etc.... Those were the good old days. The SASS team had intensive training for about a month and had matches with other teams from outside SASS, before going to Kota Marudu to play against GASS. Although our team won 1-0, the training proved that we had more stamina and our skills improved:) It was fun!Hehe. That was then. Now, I don't know. I could still kick a ball, but yeah. Faham-faham lah, sudah, ehm, tambah berat, lari pun susah. Hehehehe.

Neways. This is a picture of me, Orielle and John. They're already in the States. Miss them, especially in the String Ensemble!

p/s: Sorry Kakak Bibi, belum ada gambar terbaru..hehehe...sabar ya...ehhehe...

Gotta go to AY now.

Before I end................................................................GO BLUE!!!

Back in MC

Whew! It's been a week since I arrived back in MC and the past week had been a PITA!!Hehe. New teacher, lots of reading to do, lots of work and assignments to be done throughout the whole semester, etc., etc. Oh well, I suppose that's how college life should be, right? This morning, I went for Yoga again after about two months and it felt good waking up early and doing it again! Muscles were aching after that, but oh well, I'll get used to it sooner or later:)

Well, I don't have much to write now..I'll just post some pictures taken while I was in Sabah during the Summer...

This is a picture taken on the second day I was home, infront of SASS. The one in the middle is my bestfriend, Mellisa, of whom I haven't met for two years! So happy to meet her again and the one beside her is my bro's ex-classmate, Lianney.

Anyways, this might be the last update for this week here in Sabah, as I would be leaving for Thailand in 5 days!WAAA~!A part of me don't want to go but what to do, this is life for me for the next 2 years at least! Actually, I kinda miss some things in MC too, the life there and friends too, it's gonna be another school year for me, and next year I'm gonna be a 4th year student already!!!Can't wait to bergelar senior next year!Hahahahah!

Ok then, gonna mess up with my hair again tomorrow, I'm not sure what the results will be but, I'll just wait and see lah!heheheheh...

Woohoo!Finally met her!

Yay!Me and my friends finally got to meet Marsha today!!Soooo excited, still can't get over it now!!hehe..I was a lil' bit worried, actually, before meeting her, but she was still the same Marsha before she went to AF and now that she's a singer! We were practicing in PMC and she stopped by and came to see us. After hugging everybody, the usual Marsha was in front of us, it's as though she never left, she was still as funny as ever and mannn!!It was good to see her again, and the best thing is she didn't change!!Too bad, she'll be here for only a couple of days, because according to her, she has a tight schedule throughout the end of this year. Oh well, at least I got to meet her before going back to Thailand 12 days from now! WAAAAAAA~!!!!!I don't want to go back!!

P/S: Dee, wait firstlah ahh, the cerita la lawak I tell you lah later, maybe not lawak if I write here!heheh...

Random post here...

Hmm...sorry for the delay again...the internet connection at home really sucks!!hehe..

Well..well..well..So far, I have been doing practically nothing at home..now that AF is done, I don't know what else to do..Doing house chores as usual, but that would be done by afternoon. After that, lie down and watch TV, eat (Shimona! HELP! hehe:P) and ehm, teaching my Mom's students.

Asides from that, last Saturday evening was good. For the first time since I came back, I was out with my friends that evening. Hehe. We had a good time, reminiscing about the past when we used to hang out together, laughed about the past, etc. etc. The final concert went well, BUT I think it's the worst final so far compared to the first and second season! Okay, I'm still pissed off that the winner was none other than Mawi. Not because he won (that was expected), but because he won all three of the awards - AFVOKAL and AFBAIK as well as the overall winner. I don't think he deserves the AFVOKAL and AFBAIK awards, but no matter what, fanatics tetap fanatics. AFVOKAL should have been Idayu's and AFBAIK should have been Amylea's! Whatever lah...it's over..I hope next year, the people who vote will be able to think more ehm, rationally when voting - undi bakat, bukan rupa saja -- sedarlah! This is what I thinklah..

Nevertheless, we're still very proud of Marsha! CONGRATULATIONS Marsha! At least she was in the finals! With RM4000 and a trip to Bali asides from other gifts, that's already something for her! She has improved a lot and we're happy for her!:D I hope I'll be able to meet her before I go back to MC, heard that she might come back for a few days..hehe..:) And to Felix, congratulations to him too! GO SABAHANS! Hehe.

Yep, so that's it for now. I'm not sure when I'll be updating again, but, ehm..yeah. Uhm, Kakak Bibi, you got my sms that night right??Hehe. And you saw what I wrote in the shoutbox? Hehe. Just practicing my Dusun there, betul kah that??Haha. Bikin malu only me, they all Inuk semua pandai2 oredi cakap Dusun, me??Haih~! Nasib baik still can understand:P

Off to watch Memori Finalis AF now!

I'm HOME! Haha!

Finally I could update this poor blog of mine!

Well, to begin with, as you all know, I am back HOME! Safely...although we encountered a few slight turbulences while flying. I arrived and got the first surprise -instead of a red Suzuki waiting to take me home, a Wira awaits me. Damn (not seriously speaking though:P) my bro for not telling me!!But anyways, my bro and my parents got me. Haha. We didn't head straight home, instead we went to SASS auditorium to see a concert by the group of students known as the 'Witnessing Sound' from UNAI. They were good and they put up a good show. And, I finally got to meet my bestfriend Mellisa after two years!!Hehe. So happy to have met her again, she was still funny as ever! Haha. Oh, and I met the ex again. Hehe. Shook hands and ehm, I forgot what I said to him (hehe:)), didn't talk any further to him, instead I followed my Mum to the middle (di tengah2 lagi tu!). I could feel the eyes that were looking at me - probably they (the new students) never knew that Teacher Sally has a daughter. Haha! I felt a little bit uncomfortable, but I managed to ignore them anyway. Met with my highschool teachers again as well as my friends. It was obvious that some of them didn't know I would be arriving that day, because they were surprised to see me there!

Btw. Last Tuesday was our first outing to KK. Shaun and Daron came along and it was a fun but tiring outing. First stop was dear old Centre Point. Hehe. Watched Fantastic 4. Nice movie, wouldn't mind watching it again. Oh, the purpose of the outing was actually to go out with Charmaine before she leaves for Australia. After CP, we went to Wisma Merdeka. And then to Sutera Harbour to take pictures. It was a nice evening, the breeze was cool and we had fun taking pictures around Sutera Harbour - walk here, walk there, underneath pokok kelapa (hehe!), etc. etc.

Well, since then, I haven't gone out of the house much. Stay at home, do the house chores, watch TV, catch up with Akademi Fantasia (oh, Marsha's in the FINAL! YAY! Good for her:))and ehm, singing practice with good ol' In Unity. Hehe.

I can't seem to upload my pictures now, but I'll try to upload them later. The connection sucks! But, I'm thankful I can at least update my blog. Hehe. The pictures will have to wait then.

I'm hungry, gotta go find food to eat now. Hehe.
